HATBORO PA (September 15, 1991) Meyer Software of Hatboro, Pennsylvania today
announced the release of On The Air™ Version 1.0, new ‘screen show’ software
for the Macintosh. On The Air, which retails for $175, lets users quickly and
easily create and play back disk-based presentations incorporating animation,
still images, and sounds—created within the program, or imported from other
Macintosh environments.
One key to On The Air’s lightning-fast learning curve is ‘path-based
animation,’ a follow-the-bouncing-ball approach that replaces tedious
frame-by-frame scripting with a simple point and click. Animation speed,
duration, rotation and transition effects are applied with ‘slider-bar’
controls calibrated in seconds and percentages. Similar easy-to-use panels
control objects’ appearance, disappearance, and ‘flip stack’ apparent motion.
On The Air’s Playback control panel is equally easy to use. Presenters can
output to a single screen—or to multiple screens, reserving a ‘control station’
unseen to the audience if desired. Even the program’s Creation Environment
holds no surprises for Macintosh users, with drawing tools virtually identical
to many popular Draw programs. Files in PICT, PICS, and sounds in SND format
can also be imported and manipulated.
Interest in Version 1.0—and its soon to be released playback-only companion
product, On The Road—is keen among advertising agencies, software developers,
and other firms where disk-based new business presentations are a sure route to
increased sales.
On The Air and On The Road can be run on any Macintosh Series II computer
running System 6.0.5 or later.
The firm warmly welcomes dealer and distributor inquiries.
